New to Shelties

Postby MrsL » Sat Jan 14, 2017 9:24 pm

Hello!

My husband and I rescued a Sheltie in December. She's been with us a month now. She does have heart worms and has been on antibiotics and prednisone for the past month to clear up lung inflammation before her first dose of the worm killing drug which is this coming Thursday.

She's a great dog. She house trained within a week whereas our Maltese that we've had for 18 months still needs to be crated at night. She's gentle and loving but so adventurous. She does pull on the leash and try to chase everything outside. We live in Daegu, South Korea which is a very large city with plenty of mopeds, cars, and cats to chase. I just ordered her the easy walker harness to see if it helps.

We will be moving to Fort Drum, NY this spring.

So cute! She looks like my little Finn!
Just keep training, teach her that she gets more rewards for obeying than for pulling, running out the door, etc. She's smart! Just takes consistency : ) Good luck moving!
Finn's mama,

Melissa
