We have had three shelties, and yes they do vary some.
We have had two which each averaged about 35 lbs. and one
which averages about 19 lbs. I think the 35 lb. ones are larger than most
shelties.

It is an honor to live with, among others, my sheltie dogs Tob and Bran.
Tob is almost four years old and a normal sized male and Bran is a 5 1/2 year od small female.
