Meco my sheltie puppy

Post by BetzA » Sun Feb 10, 2013 1:26 pm

Meco was 6 weeks old in this picture, he is now about 7 weeks old. He is going to be my very first Sheltie puppy. Meco doesn't bark much which I like, but he does like to bite. He is $900.00, do you think that's to much for a sheltie puppy? He comes with his shots, wormed, dewclaws removed, tattooed, crate trained, and house trained along with some food and a blanket. :)

He's a fine looking young Gent :)

$900 definitely isn't too much to pay - our Ralph was $1200. Best investment I've ever made!! Just remember that you are getting far more for your money than a pound puppy or some odd crossbreed - you are getting assurance in terms of temperament, health and looks when you buy a purebreed/pedegree puppy.

Thanks for your reply. :)
I was worried that we might be over paying, but I'm glad that we now know we aren't.

A sweetheart - I miss Emma's puppy days. I am not sure what breeder you got him from but $900 from a really good breeder is not bad. I know a breeder who is now charging $1000 because of costs.

He was a little young when you got him if you got him a 6-weeks. Make sure you socialize him well once he has his shots.

Thanks Ronna,
He is a very sweet puppy aside from his biting, we don't have him at home yet, he is still at the breeders home. We are looking forward to bringing him home.

$900 would be too much to me, but I rescue normally. The breeder I have been researching though has tri's for $600 and blue merles for $800. Such a cute puppy anyways!

I am glad he is still with the breeder's. Some breeders do let them go at 6 weeks. Can't wait to hear of your adventures. It looks as if we don't live too far apart - I am in the Niagara area.

Meco is just adorable! How lucky you are! I paid 800$ seven years ago: all necessary vaccines were done, health check-ups, genetic testing reports, food supply. I also had the security of contacting the breeder whenever I had questions and received quick responses.

Thanks Bridget, we are very happy with our puppy pick, Meco is worth more than $900.00 to us. He is so calm and just wants to be held. Here are some pictures from today on the ride home and at our home. :D
